This Week in Marvel Comics: NYCC Edition (Oct 8–15, 2026)

New York Comic Con ran October 8–11 and Marvel used every panel to drop something new. Here is everything that matters from the House of Ideas this week, plus the new books that landed on the shelf October 14. Where we carry a book, the preorder link is right there.

1. New this week: Amazing Spider-Man 1001, Doom All-on-One, Venom 1, Wolverine: Paradise 1

Wednesday's shelf was stacked. Amazing Spider-Man 1001 (Joe Kelly, with a Pepe Larraz cover) picks up right after the milestone issue. Doom All-on-One 1 is Al Ewing and Alessandro Cappuccio's 64-page one-shot told entirely in landscape splash pages: Doom alone, fighting his way through the whole Marvel Universe in Hell. Venom 1 puts Eddie Brock and the symbiote back together, and Wolverine: Paradise 1 (Dan Panosian) takes Logan away from the X-Men and into Miami's criminal underworld. Also out: Nova: Return of the Rings 1, Infernal Hulk vs. Fantastic Four 1, Iron Man 10, X-Men 39, and the Lee Bermejo covers one-shot Amazing Spider-Man: Amazing Visions 1.

Why it matters: three number ones and a post-1000 Spider-Man issue in one week. The Doom book is the format experiment people will be talking about.

👉 Amazing Spider-Man 1001, Pepe Larraz cover and the Mark Bagley variant are in stock at LeapsLair (only a couple left). Wolverine: Paradise 1 and Doom All-on-One 1 sold out here, but Wolverine: Paradise 2 is open for preorder.

2. Momo-Tone: Peach Momoko's November covers revealed

At the Bullpen Bulletins panel Marvel showed the November wave of Peach Momoko's Momo-Tone variants: Amazing Spider-Man 1004, Black Cat 16, Gambit Gone 3, Iron Man 11, The Punisher 10, Thor 803, Uncanny X-Men 38, Venom 2, Wolverine: Paradise 2 and Wade Wilson: Deadpool 10. Same ink-wash, two-tone look as the first wave, with Momoko's take on each character.

Why it matters: the Momo-Tone program is shaping up as one of the collected cover sets of the year, and the November books are the ones that fill out a run.

👉 LeapsLair has the complete Momo-Tone 26-cover set at 25% off on preorder, and the Wolverine: Paradise 2 bundle includes the Momoko cover.

3. Midnight Universe: issue 4 covers, R.B. Silva's X-Men designs, and Midnight Doctor Octopus

The Midnight Hour panel pulled the sheet off January's cloaked covers: Midnight X-Men 4 (Jonathan Hickman and Matteo Buffagni, cover by Dike Ruan), Midnight Fantastic Four 4 (Benjamin Percy and Marcelo Ferreira, cover by Kev Walker) and Midnight Spider-Man 4 (Phillip Kennedy Johnson and ScieTronc, cover by Steve Beach). R.B. Silva's new Midnight X-Men designs include a bat-like Beast and a crystalline Iceman. The reveal that got the room: the Midnight Universe's Doctor Octopus debuts in Midnight Spider-Man 2 this November.

Why it matters: the line launched October 7 and already has a second-printing wave. Issue 2 is where the first big new villain shows up.

👉 Preorder Midnight Spider-Man 2 (every cover plus bundles), the Midnight Universe issue 2 12-cover set at 30% off, or jump ahead to the issue 3 set.

4. Captain Marvel returns in May 2027

Editor-in-Chief Stephen Wacker opened Bullpen Bulletins with a new Captain Marvel ongoing from G. Willow Wilson and Rachael Stott, launching May 2027. It follows Avengers: Armageddon: Carol Danvers is grounded and has to rethink what being Captain Marvel means, while a threat that has been building for years finally moves.

Why it matters: Wilson created Ms. Marvel. Handing her Carol, with Stott on art, is the biggest Captain Marvel relaunch in years.

5. Daredevil 700 lands in March

Stephanie Phillips and Lee Garbett bring Matt Murdock to his 700th legacy issue in March 2027, with a David Mack variant on the way. Before that, Daredevil 11 (January, art by Emilio Laiso) introduces a new villain called Latch and pairs Daredevil with Detective Forte on a case Matt's guilt may steer wrong.

Why it matters: legacy milestones mean variant programs, and Mack on a Daredevil anniversary is a given for collectors.

6. Brian Michael Bendis and Andrea Sorrentino: Magneto: End of Days

The House of Ideas panel's headline: Bendis returns to Magneto for Magneto: End of Days, an eight-issue prestige series starting February 2027 with Andrea Sorrentino on art and Dave Stewart on colors. Each issue is set at a different point in Magneto's life, from the past through a glimpse of his near future, with guest stars promised. Covers for issue 1: Sorrentino, Alex Maleev, Jerome Opeña and Netho Diaz.

Why it matters: Bendis wrote House of M and Avengers vs. X-Men. Sorrentino and Stewart are the Gideon Falls team. This is a prestige book built for the shelf, and Magneto is back on screen in Avengers: Doomsday in December.

7. Hulk War: Infernal Rage, February 2027

Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein end the Infernal Hulk saga they started in 2023 with a five-issue event. The Eldest has turned Bruce into the Infernal Hulk, who now claims the Marvel Universe as his kingdom while the heroes left standing hunt for a weapon that can stop him. The Infernal Hulk Vs. one-shots running now (starting with Wolverine) build the Infernal Avengers, and the panel teased the return of Gray Hulk.

Why it matters: this is the finale of the best-reviewed Hulk run in a decade, and the Vs. one-shots are the on-ramp.

8. Crisis of Faith: Peter vs Miles, April 2027

Joe Kelly and Bryan Edward Hill cross Amazing Spider-Man with Miles Morales: Spider-Man in April 2027. Peter's choices after his confrontation with Hellgate push Miles to confront him, and Spider-Man editor Nick Lowe called it "no holds barred." Before that, Amazing Spider-Man 1007 and 1008 (January, art by Ed McGuinness) bring back the Rhino with Damage Control and Tombstone in the mix.

Why it matters: the two Spider-Men have teamed up plenty. A real fight between them is new.

9. The Spider-office: Spider-Punk, Spider-Man Noir, THWIP, and Venom's new girlfriend

Nick Lowe's Spider-Man panel announced a new Spider-Punk ongoing (Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason, January 2027) with Hobie hunting for his missing Spider-Band in Los Angeles, a five-issue Spider-Man Noir (Alex Segura and Farid Karami, February 2027) with a tease of Noir Venom, and Marvel SFX: THWIP (January), a five-issue anthology about sound effects with stories by Jed MacKay, Stephen Graham Jones and Rainbow Rowell. Spectacular Spider-Man 8 brings back the Red Skull, and Charles Soule confirmed Venom is dating Yelena Belova in Venom 4.

Why it matters: three new number ones from the Spider-office in two months. Number ones are where the variant programs live.

10. Immortal Soldiers 1: the world stops trusting heroes

Chip Zdarsky and Christian Rosado's January one-shot picks up after Avengers: Armageddon, with the public losing faith in superheroes. Marvel is framing it as the start of a conflict, not an epilogue: who defends Earth when nobody trusts the defenders?

Why it matters: Zdarsky one-shots have a habit of becoming the seed of the next big thing.

11. What The--?! is back, X-Orcists goes ongoing, and X-Men: Regulators

Marvel's humor anthology What The--?! returns as a January one-shot (Ryan Stegman cover, a Kaare Andrews Midnight variant, and a story from Iman Vellani). X-Orcists, the supernatural mutant team book with Magik and Juggernaut, was upgraded from a miniseries to an ongoing live on stage, with Elsa Bloodstone joining in issue 3. And X-Men: Regulators (Mikki Kendall and Georges Jeanty, February 2027) is a five-issue period piece set a century ago, spinning out of Gail Simone's Uncanny X-Men.

12. Star Wars | Marvel: Hope Assembles grows to six issues

The first-ever Star Wars and Marvel Universe crossover, written by Kevin Smith with art by David Marquez, now runs six issues from January 2027, with a 30-page first issue. It is in continuity, timed to Star Wars' 50th anniversary, and the panel teased Spider-Man searching for Luke Skywalker and Magneto holding back the Death Star. Variants from Alex Ross, Kaare Andrews and Dan Jurgens.

13. Marvel and Kadokawa launch five manga

Marvel's new manga partnership with Kadokawa went live during the show with five titles on KadoComi in Japan: Iron Man, a Shibuya-set Spider-Man with a brand-new wall-crawler, Deadpool, Spider-Gwen and Venom. No English release has been announced yet.
